I’m going to make a series of short posts today, and I shall start with another in the podcast series from the National.  I have just finished listening to this and really enjoyed what the panel of designers had to say about the changing role and function of design on stage over 50 years. The panel consists of cinematographer and video projection designer Jon Driscoll (ENRON), and designers William Dudley (The Mysteries), Jon Bausor (Silence), and Rae Smith (War Horse). I particularly enjoyed their discussion about the rapid advances in technology that have changed the craft as well as how ‘new’ genres have challenged them.
